Orthopedic Physical Therapy in Midlothian, VA
Care Built Around You, Not a Protocol
People come to us when neck, back, shoulder, or knee pain is interrupting their daily life — and when a previous attempt at physical therapy left them feeling like a number, not a patient. Your physical therapist takes time to understand your full history, identify what is actually driving your symptoms, and build a plan specific to your goals — whether that is returning to running, recovering from surgery, or simply getting through the day without pain.

Lasting Relief Starts by Understanding the Root Cause of Pain
Symptoms Masked, Not Resolved
Standard PT often focuses on temporary relief — ice, ultrasound, generic stretches. Without identifying the root cause, pain tends to return the moment you resume normal activity.
Time Wasted on the Wrong Plan
When a plan isn't built around your specific condition and goals, you spend weeks on exercises that don't apply to you — and leave without the tools to stay better long-term.
Waiting Longer to Get Back to Your Life
Every week without real answers is a week further from the activities, sport, or daily function you want back. The longer the root cause goes unaddressed, the harder recovery becomes.
A Different Kind of Physical Therapy
Your physical therapist integrates manual therapy, dry needling, IASTM, joint mobilization, and targeted exercise — choosing the right combination for your specific condition, not a default protocol.

Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about orthopedic physical therapy at Uplift.
Will this be different from the PT I tried before?
Very likely. Most patients come to Uplift after a high-volume clinic experience that left them feeling rushed. Here, every session is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Your plan is built specifically for you — not a standardized protocol — and your physical therapist reassesses your progress at every visit.
Why does the initial evaluation take 90 minutes?
A thorough evaluation takes time. Your physical therapist uses the first 90 minutes to review your full history, assess movement, identify contributing factors, and develop a meaningful plan of care. That depth of assessment is what makes it possible to actually address the root cause — not just the symptom you walked in with.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on the condition and your goals. Your physical therapist gives an honest estimate after the initial evaluation and adjusts as you progress. Most patients see meaningful improvement within the first several sessions — and the goal is always to get you to the point where you no longer need to come in regularly.
Do you accept insurance?
Uplift is out of network with commercial insurance. Payment is collected at the time of service. We accept credit card, HSA/FSA, and check. We can provide a superbill at the conclusion of services for potential out-of-network reimbursement through your plan. Uplift does accept Traditional Medicare and Medicare Supplemental Plans.
What modalities do you use for orthopedic conditions?
Your physical therapist draws from manual therapy, joint mobilization, dry needling (Cert. DN), IASTM/Graston technique, myofascial release, trigger point therapy, electrical stimulation, and individualized therapeutic exercise. The specific approach is determined by your evaluation findings — not a one-size-fits-all protocol applied to everyone with a similar diagnosis.
